Fewer clicks, more clarity: Enhancing cardiovascular ultrasound reporting & analysis

Clinicians leverage ViewPoint 6 with EchoPAC for ultrasound reporting and analysis

Cardiovascular ultrasound is a field defined by complexity. From assessing intricate heart structures to making precise diagnostic decisions, every step requires expertise, efficiency, and accuracy. What shouldn’t be complex? The tools you rely on to manage data, images and reporting.

ViewPointTM 6 simplifies cardiac ultrasound analysis and reporting workflows by minimizing inefficiencies, reducing manual steps, and providing rapid access to essential insights.

What is ViewPoint 6 for cardiovascular ultrasound?

ViewPoint 6 is a powerful ultrasound reporting and image management solution designed to enhance cardiovascular workflow efficiency. It enables enterprise-wide access to advanced post-processing and quantification tools to support accurate diagnosis and documentation, facilitates structured reporting, and integrates with the hospital infrastructure to ensure all cardiac insights become part of a patient’s record.

Advanced post-processing at your desktop

Accurate and timely image analysis is crucial to confidently quantify cardiac function. ViewPoint 6, powered by EchoPACTM*, brings the power of your ultrasound scanner directly to your desktop. It enables fast post-processing and comprehensive study reviews, whether you're in the hospital, at a satellite clinic, or reviewing cases remotely. This lets you dedicate your ultrasound system entirely to scanning without tying it up for image review.

Clinicians can post-process data from almost any ultrasound system using the EchoPAC tools that allow you to visualize and measure 2D and 3D images from multi-vendor ultrasound fleets**. EchoPAC delivers even more robust capabilities with Vivid™ ultrasound scanners and enables image post-processing at the original resolution and frame rate. Advanced features include auto-play loops for study comparisons, wall motion scoring for myocardial function assessment, easy AFI for one-click strain and EF calculations, and 4D automatic valve assessment with CT fusion technology.*

One study found that 10-15% of echocardiograms produce suboptimal images1, often requiring either rescans or advanced post-processing to extract clinically relevant insights. ViewPoint 6 enables clinicians to perform these analyses anytime, anywhere.

Save time with one-click actions and workflow automation tools

Cardiovascular ultrasound produces vast amounts of data, but documentation doesn’t have to be time-consuming. ViewPoint 6 transforms manual tasks into smart workflows, improving accuracy, consistency, and compliance with professional guidelines while easing clinicians’ administrative burden.

A key advantage of ViewPoint 6 is its configurable exam templates, designed to align with global medical guidelines for standardized yet customizable reporting. Once an exam is performed, captured measurements and images automatically populate the appropriate report template, minimizing manual data entry. When finalized, reports can be instantly sent to the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) for archiving.

To further accelerate documentation, Quick Reports allow clinicians to generate pre-built reports for common findings, such as positive or negative exams, with a single click—while keeping findings editable for adjustments as needed.

The latest advancement, Auto-Report Generation, enhances efficiency by automatically populating exam findings into reports. For adult echocardiograms, it generates clinical statements based on measurement values, classifying them as normal or abnormal according to American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) guidelines. Previously, clinicians had to navigate multiple dropdown menus to select statements; now, these are pre-populated, requiring only verification. This innovation significantly reduces documentation time, enabling clinicians to focus more on interpretation and patient care.

Data integration & collaboration

ViewPoint 6 ensures that every detail is included into the patient’s electronic medical record, providing a comprehensive, real-time view of the cardiac health. ViewPoint 6's advanced interoperability allows clinicians to access clinical reports within the electronic health record (EHR). This centralized access enables easier collaboration across care teams, ensuring that whether a clinician is at the bedside, in a satellite clinic, or reviewing remotely, they have the complete information needed for well-informed decision-making.

The ability to review exams off-scanner also can improve collaboration as clinicians have more flexibility in where and when they engage in collaborative discussions. With all relevant patient data consolidated in one place, teams can confidently and efficiently coordinate care.
